Book One, Within the Circle, blurb:

One week before All Hallows Eve, the Jacobson sisters cast a circle and ask the Goddesses to bless them each with a man who will love them forever. Shy and often doubtful, Carly wants to find love but wonders how she’ll do that when she can’t even talk to a good-looking man, much less look him in the eyes.

The morning after performing the spell, the mysterious owner of the floral shop where Carly works shows up and attempts to sweep her off her feet. Not understanding her out-of-control attraction to him and scared the Goddesses have made a huge mistake, she runs out of the shop and away from Max.

With the help of her sisters, Carly performs a truth ceremony. Will she trust what she views in the fire, or lose the one man the Goddesses have chosen for her?

The bell on the door jingled and then fell silent. She licked her lips. Max’s dark brown shoulder-length hair begged her to run her hands through it and bring his lips down to her level. Where are all these thoughts coming from?

“W-well, I better get busy. The black carnations came in yesterday afternoon. I need to cut and have them ready by the weekend.” She stepped around him, paused, and frowned. An incredible urge to turn around and stay beside him came out of nowhere.
Forcing her feet to move across the floor, she pushed through the swinging door into the back workroom. She reached out and grabbed on to the table to steady herself. Her whole body shook with uncontrolled lust for her boss. What is going on?

“Carly?”

She whirled around. “Y-yes?” Oh sweetness…it’s him! What is he doing to me?

Max stepped closer. She inhaled a long, slow breath. Even through the floral scents permeating the room, the musky aroma coming from him floated across to her and caused her stomach to flip-flop.

“You are unbelievably gorgeous.” He ran his hand down her cheek.

She tilted her head into his touch. Oh Goddess, you did it. You brought me someone who cannot deny me and will love me forever.

“S-so are y-you.” She squeezed her eyes shut, opened them, and wrinkled her nose. “I-I mean…”

“Sh. I know. You have been here the whole time working in my shop, and I had no idea…” He brought his other hand up and cupped her cheeks. “I’ve never had anything like this come over me, but I can’t seem to fight it.”

She swallowed. “I know.”

He placed feather-soft kisses on her forehead. She shivered despite the way her body warmed under his attention. Any attempt to slow down and try to comprehend what was happening fled her mind the second he lowered his head for a kiss.

Softly he explored her mouth. Brushing his lips against hers, he coaxed her body into submitting. She mewed. The thought of his weight on top of her, his body pleasuring, consuming her, drove her wild. She wanted to experience it all.

He tasted, teased, and nibbled. She dug her fingers into the long strands of hair at his nape. Her pussy dampened, and she held him tighter to her, urging him for more.

Max pulled back without letting her go. “I want you. I need to feel your body against me.”

Her hand slipped out of his hair, slid down his shoulder, and fell to her side. This wasn’t what she wanted. The spell was for true love, not lust, not something…fake.

“S-stop.” She lowered her head, trying to catch her breath.

“What’s wrong, sweetheart?” He enfolded her in his arms. The proof of his desire pressed against her lower stomach, making this more difficult.

“I… This isn’t what I wanted.” She sniffed. I want love.

She shoved her hand in her front pocket. Her fingers curled around the cool quartz rock she carried with her for peace of mind. She slowed down at the sudden rise in temperature coming from inside her hand. Bringing the rock out, she then spread open her fingers and watched the gem change from its rose color to red. Her brows shot up. That’d never happened before.

“Son of a bitch!”

She raised her head. Up ahead, two legs stuck out from under a car beside the curb. Her mouth dropped open, and she glanced down at the quartz again. Are you trying to warn me about something?

“Dammit!” A groan was followed by more metal clanking. “Piece of shit!”

It sounded as if the man was having a hard time fixing his car. The noise and cussing grew louder.

She slipped the rock back into the pocket of her jeans and continued down the sidewalk, drawing closer to the guy lying underneath the engine of his car. With the thought of walking down to the water pushed to the back of her mind, she’d find out if he needed some help.

Work boots attached to a pair of sexy legs gave her pause. Inhaling, she thoroughly inspected the size of the man’s thighs. She swallowed. No chicken legs there. He definitely filled out a pair of jeans.

Letting her gaze wander farther up, she pulled back her head and giggled. Eureka! I found the mother lode.

She raised her hand to her mouth and bit down on the tip of her fingernail. The man’s hips thrust in the air and rocked from one side to the other. Bonnie stared in utter fascination, imagining what it would be like to lie on top of him…naked.

With a shake of her head, she squatted down beside his knees. “Hey mister, you need any help? Want me to call someone for you?” She patted his leg. “I live a block away. It won’t be any trouble.”

“Yes. No! Hey…wait. Hand me that wrench, will ya?” A greasy hand came out from under the car, fingers extended. “I can’t let go.”

“Um, sure…” She picked up a hammer and set it back down in the pile of tools on the ground. After deciding the big silver-handled tool must be the one he wanted, she picked the greasy gizmo up with two fingers.

“Here you go.” She inched closer and placed it in his rather large hand.

The tool disappeared, and more clatter came from under the car. “Yes!” The man scooted out from under the engine and sat up. “Thank you. I couldn’t let go of the part to pick up the tool without it falling off again.” He rubbed his hands on the backs of his thighs, raised his head, and his jaw dropped.

“I’ll be damned.” He stepped up on the curb to walk all the way around Bonnie.

She laughed and followed it with a wink. “No you won’t. I don’t have that kind of power, but I can make a mean club sandwich if you want to come home with me.”

Within the Circle #3 Summon the Wind Blurb

Mature and wise, Alexis takes her job as the eldest Jacobson triplet seriously. When Lance, the ten-year-old boy from Camp Enchantment, shows up fifteen years later claiming he’d asked the Goddess to let him know if Alexis ever cast a spell for love…that is playing with too much magic!

Unwilling to believe a witch is her true love, she raises the wind to get rid of him. Little does she know that Lance has a secret of his own that will change all of their lives on All Hallows Eve.

“Hello, Alexis.”

She stepped closer and studied the man. Something about his blue eyes seemed familiar. He grinned, and she gasped. Oh Goddess, Lance Garvis.

“Aren’t you going to say hello to an old friend?” He motioned for her to take the seat across from him. “What’s it been? Ten…twelve years since we’ve seen each other?”

“Fifteen. It’s been fifteen years.” She plopped down in the chair. “Y-you look great.”

She closed her mouth and swallowed. He’d grown up. No longer the ten-year-old boy she and her sisters palled around with all summer at Camp Enchantment. His cheekbones were higher, and he’d lost the pug nose. The Lance of today had regal features, longer blond hair, and a dominant chin. He could have doubled for a Norse god.

“W-what are you doing here?” She inhaled and clamped her bottom lip between her teeth.

“You haven’t guessed?” He uncrossed his legs, leaned forward, and placed his elbows on his knees. “I’ve waited for the day when you are ready to find a man to love, hoping…” He paused and smiled. “I never told you, but the summer we were the best of friends, I had asked the Goddess to let me know if you ever asked for love to come to you. I didn’t want to cast a spell that would tie you to me if it wasn’t your choice, you see.”

Lance stood up, stepped in front of her chair, and held out his hand. “It seems like I have waited my whole life for the day I could finally show you how much I love you.”

She sat in stunned silence. Shaking her head, she glanced away from his mesmerizing gaze. This wasn’t what she had asked the Goddess for. Oh sweet mercy. He’s even cuter than he was as a child. She pushed away all thoughts of Lance the man and concentrated on what was important.

Lance was a witch.
