My current story I’m working on is a shifter story. Werewolves to be precise! The funny thing is, I want to blab to the world exactly why this story is special -and oh boy, is it an awesome one- but I can’t do it. I want to surprise you all. To say it is like no other werewolf, shifter, paranormal one I’ve read is barely hitting the surface. I think readers will start reading it, and slowly over the course of pushing the button to forward the pages, you’ll be sucked into the storyline. You’ll sit on the edge of your chair, not be able to take potty breaks, because you’ll have to find out more.

An author’s fantasy? Meh, maybe. Or, it could be that this story totally rocks, and all of you paranormal readers will be surprised on the journey of emotions you go through with my characters. Emotions that are not usually tapped into in a paranormal book.

Simply put: I’m excited!

I bought a new scented jar candle at Walmart a couple weeks ago. I mean really, $5 candles that last a long time can not be ignored. I simply love to burn candles and if they have a pleasing scent that’s definitely an added bonus in my book. I’m a seasonal candle burner. I never light them in the summer time, but the first sign of Fall, I get out the matches and have at least one candle going every day. Today it is a three layer candle – pumpkin spice, cinnamon, and apples. It almost makes me hungry!

Candle light is romantic too. It casts the room in shadows and gets you in the mood for some playtime. Setting candles around the bathroom and taking a bath is very relaxing. Lining your dresser and nighttables in the bedroom turns it into a home-away-from-home getaway. When’s the last time you ate dinner at the table with only candle light?

There are huge candles that go on pillar stands, little votive candles you can place anywhere, fat ones, tall ones, and shapes. There are expensive ones, cheap ones, and some you never want to burn because they are a work of art. Tell me about your candle usage…do you enjoy burning candles? Do you use them for decorations? Do you use them to spice up the romance?

I’m also having a fun contest on September 9th, here on my blog, and giving away a copy of Playing with a Wood Nymph. If you ever thought that Wood Nymphs were real, not out of a fairy tale or myth, I bet you’d enjoy what I have planned. It’s a great story about how your fantasy can become your reality.

I love the fall. Cold weather is my favorite! Scarves come out, sweaters, hoodies, and most of all…boots! The days get darker and more dreary. Drinking spiked spiced apple cider starts to become the norm for me, and I can sit out on the deck cuddled up in a blanket with my laptop and write for long periods of time. This time of the year will be extra special this time around, because my Within the Circle series comes out in October. Three short stories about three sisters, triplets actually, who just happen to be witches with elemental powers. Pretty cool, huh?

Soon it will be time to harvest pumpkins, roast the seeds in the oven, and leave the old hay bales on the porch to call decorations. (lol That’s the lazy farmers way)

Yesterday, I told you about the strange pictures I like taking and today I’ll confess to another slightly odd thing I like to do. Confession is good for the soul, right? I love to cook. Like my photography skills, I can’t claim I’m a skilled cook. I just have an adventurist spirit. A lot of my attempts at cooking fall short, very short, and yet, once in awhile I’ll do something that wows those that end up trying out the new dish. That’s the cool part of finding something that no one has ever had before. It earns me the reputation of being the first within my circle of friends, relatives of coming up with a new get-together-favorite.

Coca-Cola Weinies!

What’s that? Did I just hear someone snort? That’s okay…I’m used to it. In fact, last week, I had a friend who was throwing a retirement party for her father-in-law. She was panicking about catering the shindig by herself on top of housing out of town guests. I told her I would bring over a couple dishes to help lighten her load. She did look at me kind of funny, and asked, “Uh, what kind of dish?” She knows me so well. lol I told her I’d bring over Coca-Cola Weinies. Needless to say, I had to tell her it would be alright and I’d bet our friendship on the recipe. Later, after the party was over, my phone rang. It was my friend. “OMG, you have to give me the recipe for those weiners!”

Let me remind you when it was the cool thing to bring little smokie weiniers to parties. Also, remember when we all scoffed at the idea of putting them in the slow cooker covered with grape jelly and mustard? This Coca-Cola Weinies recipe is a lot like that. It sounds weird, but the end result is fabulous. Plus, you don’t even need to write this recipe down. It’s an easy one…

Coca-Cola Weinies

1 lb of Little Smokie’s weiners

1-16 oz bottle of Coca Cola

Put the weinies in a pan and pour the Coke over the weinies. Cook slowly and cover with a lid until tender and glazed.

That’s it!

I usually then transfer the whole thing to a slow cooker to keep them warm, set some toothpicks beside the slowcooker with a bottle of Dijon mustard.

I double, sometimes triple the recipe, because these go fast with a crowd.
