Ohhh…ahhh…you need to know more!

Back cover blurbs catch our attention, draw us in, and make us buy the book. At least they do for me. lol It could be the subject that draws my attention, or the hint of something so mysterious I have to buy the book to find out more. With my own books, I have publishers who write the blurb for me and others who want the author to write the blurb themselves. Who else knows your book better, right? Well, I’m going to tell you something so shocking you’ll probably laugh. I hate writing blurbs. That’s right, I do. I have one chance at grabbing your attention.

What if I make it sound boring? What if they can’t tell that the book is loaded with secrets? Should I give away exactly what makes this a paranormal?

I’m going to share the newest blurb I have with you. This is for my book To Play or Obey?. It is a full-length paranormal novel. You might remember me referring to it by the name of Peckerwood. (That’s where the story takes place…Peckerwood, Washington) Now, it’s too late for you to tell me you hate it, that it’s boring, and it doesn’t grab your attention. That’s okay. I’d still like to share it with you. :-)

To Play or Obey? – Coming November 19th, 2010

An all-expenses-paid trip to a BDSM town called Peckerwood in Washington turns into an erotic romance author’s dream. Gabriella Torraine will be able to do all the research she needs for her erotic vampire stories, as well as learn about a lifestyle that has always secretly fascinated her.

Not all is what it seems in Peckerwood, but Mayor Dick is bound and determined to win over the submissive Gabby before he lets the carefully hidden secret out. Will Gabby trust, love, and believe him enough to remain in Peckerwood once she learns the truth?
