Almost time to pop the bubbly…

Remember, if you email me at abbywood@authorabbywood.com with the subject PICK ME, you’ll be entered into the drawing on Friday for a free copy of Going Down at the DockWarning: This book should only be read by those 18 years old and over. It is scorching hot and my publisher has given it a Diablo Delights heat rating, the highest it goes!

Tomorrow is the big day! Going Down at the Dock comes out for the first time. What is that like for me…the author? Exciting! I always dedicate that first day to chat with others, tell people about my book, be available for anyone who sends me a message, and I walk around the whole day with a smile on my face. Of course, I have those little balls of nerves in my tummy that mark me human. Will they like the book? What kind of reviews will I get? What if nobody buys it?

On the homefront, I make a special dinner. This time I picked Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, and rolls. How do you celebrate the good things that happen in life? Do you buy a cheesecake? Take the day and pamper yourself? Maybe you go out and buy you those boots you’ve been drooling over?

If you’d like to continue to talk with me, follow my writing career, or just pop in and say hello, I’d like to share other places that you can find me.

I buy myself a new book to celebrate okay that’s just an excuse to by a new book. I buy books if I’m happy, sad or glad I just love books. If something really great happens first off I call my sisters and tell them. Lots of times my sister and I will go out and eat to celebrate.

lol I totally agree…a book is a great way to celebrate. That is neat that you call your sister. I am the only girl in my family…the baby at that, so although my brothers are very proud of me, they are men and I get the “Cool!” response. lol Although, I do have a daughter and she is getting pretty good at squee-ing and jumping up and down. ;-)
