I swear if things are going to go wrong, it’ll be on a Monday.
*Frozen pipes in the downstairs bathroom (It’s 10 degrees out)
*Someone forgot to put antifreeze in a certain someone’s work truck (It’s 10 degrees out)
*My mom might be going back to the hospital. I’m waiting for the phone call
*Since work truck wasn’t useable, hubby used my Suburban with the studded tires and four wheel drive to go to work, and I’m the one who has to go get the antifreeze and scale down the side of a huge mountainside covered in ice and snow with only a truck that has four wheel drive and no studded snow tires.
I can’t wait until Tuesday. It has got to be better than today.
Lately, there has been a lot of talk about counting your blessings. The economy stinks, health problems rise, stress levels are high, people worry about the holidays, jobloss, and the list goes on and on. I’m not a negative person, I like to see the positive side in all things. That is sometimes hard to do when it seems like the bad outweigh the good.
Here are some things that I like to do and things I have heard others doing to boost the positive in their life.
* Make a list everyday of 5 things you are thankful for
*Meditate
*Bless people- It’s not a religion folks, just a simple way to remember others and wish them well.
*Learn something new
*Keep a journal
*Pamper yourself- A bubble bath, a long walk outside, read a book, eat a sweet, cuddle with your lover
*Wake up each morning with a positive outlook
*Volunteer
*Hug a child or listen to the elderly.
*Give random compliments
Since my day isn’t starting out the best. I’m going to list five things I am thankful for today.
1. The woodstove that keeps me toasty warm when the ground is covered in snow and it is only 10 degrees out.
2. The fact that we own more than 2 vehicles
3. That my kids, hubby, and I are healthy
4. That hubby has a job and I am an author
5. That I have a computer, internet, and can share information with the world
Your turn….what are you thankful for?
