What is it about reality shows that make you want to hide the fact that you enjoy them? Sure, they’re silly, shallow, scripted, but they are entertaining. Especially to a romance writer, who loves watching the body language, dialogue, and relationships develop from strangers to mortal enemies friends. This season’s Big Brother is coming to an end tonight. I’ve stayed away from any talk about who wins. (Yeah, living on the West Coast sucks some times when it comes to television shows and people giving away spoilers)
So, who am I rooting for? Whiney girl Natalie, Kevin or Jordan? Well, that’s a toughie. Natalie grates on my nerves, but I’ll admit she’s been sneaky, backstabbing, and a liar. I guess that qualifies her as playing the game to win. Kevin is hilarious! I’d love to grab him for a day of shopping. In fact, Manual, the King’s servant in Throwing a Kink in the Kidnapping is exactly like Kevin. If anyone wants to make a movie of my book…hire Kevin to play Manual. Jordan is cute. Yep, she’s a little short on the smarts, but she’s a cutie with a very nice personality. I thought the romance between her and Jeff endearing. She rode coattails, but at the end she fought hard for the position she is in by going up against Kevin.
I guess what I am trying to say is I don’t really care who wins. The season was entertaining, much like the other seasons. It’s a show, it’s a game, and after taxes get taken out of that $500,000 and they pay off their college bills, take a trip, pay their parents back, they will join us regular folks back in the working world and go on with life with just a fond memory of their time in the house under Big Brothers watch.
