I have a free day, and still my imagination is kicking into overdrive

While my editor goes over what I have revised on, Throwing a Kink in the Kidnapping, I found myself with a free day. On a Monday, no less, where I got out of bed and decided that those window blinds needed to be cleaned. I planned to finish all six of them in the downstairs first. After doing two windows, I heard on the radio that our area is going to get hit by a heatwave. Oh great! My first thought is, “Shit, I’m going to die.” I love the sun, but I can’t stand heat. I’m a winter type of gal. Bundle me up in a big down jacket and throw me out in the snow, and I’m in my zone.

So, I got to thinking…I’d really love to do a story based in Alaska where I grew up. Better yet, I’d like to do a story with a little culture from the Inuits thrown into it. I moved onto the third window to clean, and dreamed up my hero. By the fourth window, I had a heroine.

I haven’t finished the fifth and sixth window, because I had to write all of this down before I forgot it. I’ve got shapeshifters, Alaska, multicultural, mystery, danger, but behind it all I have two people that are mated for life who finally come together in the most hot way.

This is what happens to me when I try and clean the house. It isn’t my fault nothing gets done, or I never finish a project. My muse talks, and I must listen.
